Shivali is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Stanford University Department of Dermatology. She was the 2019-20 BMJ Editorial Registrar and National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow, a scheme run by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
Previously, she completed her Medical Internship (Foundation Programme) in Leicestershire and held an academic post with the University of Leicester. She is a member of the Cardiff University School of Medicine Class of 2017, and also graduated with a first class honours in Medical Genetics in 2016. Whilst at medical school, she co-founded The British Student Doctor Journal and now serves as a Trustee and Executive Director for the journal's parent organisation, The Foundation for Medical Publishing. For her involvement in this work, she is an Honorary Tutor at Cardiff University and a member of The Academy of Medical Educators.
Shivali is passionate about the dissemination of medical education and improving health systems. She hopes to work in Public Health and Health Policy in the future. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, reading one of the many books on her list and a good coffee.
