Rosemary HAS project managed the
national award winning Blue Mountains Our Future - The Next 25 Years and has led the focus of the Blue
Mountains City Council on integrated planning and the achievement of a more sustainable future for the
City of Blue Mountains - socially, economically and environmentally. This focus has included leading the
transformation of the Council's financial sustainability through developing and driving implementation of
the Council's Six Strategies for Financial Sustainability, successfully reforming a complex rating structure
and gaining community and IPART support for three Special Rate Variations, culminating in the Council
being declared Fit for the Future by the NSW State Government. BMCC is responsible for approximately
140,377 hectares (542 square miles), 26 townships and villages and has a population of approximately
78,000. Council is committed to working in close partnership with the community: to preserve and
enhance a City where quality and diversity of life are in harmony with the unique natural and built
environment of the Blue Mountains: The City within a National Park.
