Richard Moreno is the leader of the Interethnic Forum of Chocó and Guardians of the Atrato River representative. His work includes the landmark ruling that pronounced the Atrato the first river in Colombia to be a legal person under the rights of nature framework. He also shines the spotlight on the power of Black and Afro-descendent tradition in local river guardianships within the Chocó region of Western Colombia.
