Katrien Franken

Katrien is a multiple award-winning artist, researcher, writer, and founding director of Open Up; a breathwork and inner growth institute based in Amsterdam. She did the first academic research on the Effects of conscious connected breathing on cortical brain activity, mood and state of consciousness. Her work aims to facilitate and support the emergence of a culture that fosters inner growth, social change and creative expression. She has a classic romantic temperament, whose passions include the arts, and poetry, philosophy, and complex systems.
