Ayisha Siddiqa is a Pakistani Climate justice advocate. She is a co-founder of Polluters Out and the Executive Director of Student Affairs at Fossil Free University. On Sept 20th, 2019 she helped mobilize and lead over 300,000 students onto the streets of Manhattan demanding their governments take climate action. Ayisha Siddiqa is a tribal, Pakistani environmentalist, and the Co-founder of Polluters Out and Fossil Free University. Her work focuses on uplifting the rights of marginalized communities while holding polluting companies accountable at the international level. She has organized multiple school strikes for climate since 2019, in addition to campaigns on human rights defense, climate finance, UN climate treaties and indigenous people's rights.
As a 2022 Coro Fellow, she worked with the Executive Vice-President for Strategy & Innovation of NYCHA on grant proposals; worked on congressional candidate Rana Abdelhamid’s campaign; consulted the Colin Powell School at CUNY on curriculum for a Minor in Leadership; and composed Propel Capital’s annual investment Ventures Report.
She is currently working at the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at New York University as a Research Scholar to advance mechanisms between environmental and human rights law.
She is a prolific speaker and story teller, for which has been invited as keynote speaker at Columbia University, Yale University, NYU, Claremont McKenna, the Cooper Union to elaborate on topics of climate justice, fossil fuel deproliferation and international policy. She has published chapters in "The Climate Book" edited by Greta Thunberg and "The Revolution Will Not Be Litigated" edited by Katie Redford and Mark Gevisser
She has been featured on New York Times special event in conversation with Hillary Clinton, on Vogue, Vice, Forbes, The Guardian, Marie Claire Magazine and has done interviews with the BBC, Washington Post, PBS, Democracy Now.
Ayisha is currently serving as an advisory council member for the Global Commons Alliance and Climate Vanguard.
